Introducing two exciting new works

The Academy presents a vibrant new chamber orchestra version of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, brilliantly arranged by Christian Lindberg. Also featured is Richard Strauss’s First Horn Concerto, performed by the outstanding young soloist Alexei Watkins.

The concert opens with the world premiere of Circles of Light by Christopher Painter, commissioned by the Academy. Inspired by the city of Norwich, the work explores its distinctive landscapes, landmarks, and atmosphere through a series of vivid musical scenes.
