Piers Lane returns to Norwich this October

Renowned Australian concert pianist, Piers Lane, joins the AST for it’s final concert of the season to perform of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.1 in St Andrew’s Hall, Norwich on Saturday 12th October.

Piers Lane stands out as an engaging and highly versatile performer, at home equally in solo, chamber and concerto repertoire.

Five times soloist at the BBC Proms in London’s Royal Albert Hall, Piers Lane’s concerto repertoire exceeds ninety works and has led to engagements with many of the world’s leading orchestras.

AST audiences may recall Piers Lane’s wonderful performance of the Grieg Piano Concerto back in 2013 for the 40th Anniversary concert and also Chopin and Saint-Saens concertos in previous years.

For the second half of the concert guest conductor Benjamin Pope has collated a unique selection of music especially for the AST from Tchaikovsky’s popular ballet Swan Lake. This is an exciting venture for the AST to explore this repertoire with a leading ballet conductor.

The Michael Falcon Piano Fund have kindly given financial assistance towards the cost of hiring a Steinway concert grand piano for this concert
