The Academy of St Thomas gives a stunning evening of musical magic at Hingham Church

We had the good fortune to have a visit by the Academy of St Thomas orchestra conducted by Matthew Andrews on Saturday September 17. The whole evening was a great success. The orchestra was superb. There is no other word for them. We were treated to the beautiful playing by both the soloists Cameron Johnson and Thomas Isaac. It was an amazing evening. The St Andrew’s Church, Hingham Heritage Fund and the History Centre would like to thank all those who supported the evening to make it such a memorable event.

What an exhilarating evening of music the audience was treated to at St Andrew’s Church, Hingham on Saturday night. The Academy of St Thomas orchestra under the baton of Matthew Andrews were on top form with a programme of Rameau, Haydn and Mozart. The two young soloists complemented the evening wonderfully well, playing Haydn’s Cello Concerto in D – Thomas Isaac was the soloist and the Haydn Trumpet Concerto excitingly played by Cameron Johnson. Both of them will surely become stars of the future. This was certainly a ’Norfolk’s Got Talent’ evening. I certainly look forward to their next concert.
