Catherine May - Soloist

British Canadian soprano Catherine May studied at the RNCM, supported by the Peter Moores Foundation. Her operatic engagements include roles in productions for English National Opera, MidWales Opera, Scottish Opera, English Touring Opera, Garsington Opera, Diva Opera , the Aldeburgh Festival and British Youth Opera. She has appeared in contemporary opera productions for the English National Opera, Almeida Opera and ROH2. Most recently, she was Amy in the Canadian premiere of Mark Adamoʼs Little Women.

On the concert platform, she has appeared with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the English Symphony Orchestra, the Norwich Philharmonic, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, at the Aldeburgh Festival and at the Wigmore Hall with Graham Johnson.

Catherine lives in Essex with her husband, Matthew Andrews, and her young son. She is pleased to be back in Norwich following Mahler 2 with Norwich Philharmonic last year.
