TRUST

The Michael Badminton Young Musicians Trust was established in 1998 by the late Michael Badminton to support talented young players in Norfolk through:

  • Promoting the Norfolk Young Musician Competition
  • Support with tuition costs, loans of instruments and assistance to attend courses in the UK and abroad
  • String days for young people

Mike Badminton was a member of the Academy of St Thomas, he chose Salle Church as his final resting place after many happy years playing with the orchestra in such a beautiful location.

Norfolk Young Musician Competition 2017
Sixteen young musicians impressed judges at this years event on the 15 January at the John Innes Centre, Norwich.
Adjudicated by world renowned harpist Danielle Perrett.

Third Prize: Michael Anning Alto Saxophone - Notre Dame High School

Norfolk and Norwich Chamber Music Wind Prize: Jonathan Jolly Alto Saxophone - Norwich School
Badminton String Prize: Daniel Murphy Guitar - Reepham School
